August 29, 2008, Seattle – Express Imaging Systems (EIS), LLC the manufacturer of the first HD high speed roll-to-roll silver halide printer, announces that it will attend Photokina with a display in the Hostert Pro Booth Hall/Stand 10.1: A101-B011.
In 2004, EIS released the Europa 10, a 10,000 print per hour roll-to-roll digital printer. Since then it has released the Europa 5 (5,000 pph) and the Europa 15 (15,000) and launched the HD Print marketing campaign creating an association between high-definition TV (HDTV) and the high-definition photographic prints produced by the Europa. HD Prints provide accurate color and exceptional shadow depth, detail, color saturation, flesh tones and tonality, says EIS. The Europa’s crisp 450ppi prints have won the DIMA Digital Printer Shoot Out twice since its release.
This year EIS brings its line of printers to Photokina with a display in the Hostert Pro Booth. The Express Minibook Maker and the Express Maxibook Maker will also be present in the booth. The Express Minibook Maker binds silver halide prints into ‘mini’ heirloom quality photobooks. “Paired with HD Prints from a Europa printer these ‘mini’ photobooks exceed the image quality of any comparable digital press product on the market,” says Cathleen Shattuck, Creative Director at EIS. The Express Maxibook Maker is uniquely flexible, creating book blocks from either silver halide pages or digital press paper. “Photolabs and printers get maximum mileage from either type of printer, creating large albums with durable full bleed pages that lie flat,” says Keith Miller, President of EIS.
