Express Imaging Systems, LLC Launches a Complete High Speed Digital Fulfillment Solution

(SEATTLE, WA) Express Imaging Systems, LLC, a leading developer of digital imaging technology and solutions for the photo processing industry, announced today that it is ready to enter the market for high speed digital fulfillment solutions with its Express System.

The "Express System" includes the following components:

  • ExpressScan™ high speed film scanning line: capable of up to 12,000 frames per hour and upgradeable to 20,000 frames per hour at 4 or 8 base resolution
  • Intelligent Image Enhancement (i2e): automatic high speed color/density correction software
  • The Europa printer: capable of up to 10,000 480 dpi prints per hour and upgradeable to 20,000 480 dpi prints per hour.

Keith Miller, President of Express Imaging Systems commented, "The addition of i2e and the Europa high speed printer to our well known ExpressScan film scanner and integration software enables us to provide a complete digital solution for a fraction of the price of similar systems.”

As the penetration of digital cameras and image enabled cell phones continues to grow, the opportunity arises for a highly automated low cost photofinishing process to drive consumer print prices down. Fulfillment using digital minilabs will become too labor intensive at the higher volumes requiring this higher degree of automation.

The Express System is capable of taking film or digital input, interacting with the labs BMC/PfDF system and creating the output required to drive media duplicators (CD-R, DVD, etc), Internet upload or ICC profiled printers.
