EIS Launches a Full Suite of Digital Workflow Tools for Central Labs

(Seattle, WA) Express Imaging Systems, LLC, a leader in high speed digital imaging solutions, announced today that it is shipping its Europa 10 high speed digital printer with a full suite of supporting workflow software tools for the central lab.

During lab tests for the Europa printer, Express Imaging Systems proved its end-to-end commitment to help labs navigate the new digital topography that includes order data, scanning, color correction, image storage, prints, CDs, and other outputs including new options to email index prints. “Express Imaging Systems is responsive to the needs of central photo labs looking to strengthen and develop their digital workflow,” stated Jagdeep Shah of Fotoview Imaging Solutions, the site of a current Europa 10 lab trial and workflow software implementation. “They have shown their strength by working with all our input devices and ensuring a central workflow to the Europa printer, CD & DVD burners and email. The team has superseded our expectations. No doubt we will be ready to place our second order for the Europa printer this year.”

Most recently, Express Imaging Systems has developed a central workflow product called Express Central PfDF Server. PfDF (Photofinishing Data Format) is a standard designed to aid the exchange of data among different photo finishing devices. The Express Central PfDF Server supports products that use PfDF, such as digital re-order stations and the Europa 10 digital printer, and is advantageous when trying to cost effectively integrate existing and new input/output devices into a lab’s workflow. Third party Internet software suites can quickly handoff Internet orders to this central server application for delegation within the workflow. Express Central PfDF Server also works with Express Imaging System’s new storage software called Image Server, offering a full suite of automated storage and retrieval options for digital images.

“With recent changes in the photo industry, ranging from dropping film volumes and supplier upheaval, Express Imaging Systems has focused its resources on helping its customers respond to the rapidly changing needs in the marketplace. We have leveraged our long history in this business to design a network architecture that will accommodate multiple input sources and an ever-expanding array of output options,” stated Bryan Heathman, Express Imaging Systems, VP of Marketing.

The Europa 10 printer and Express Imaging Systems’ latest workflow solutions will be on display at PMA, Orlando 2006. Experts at booth 2877 will be available to discuss today’s digital production opportunities.
