SEATTLE – February 2, 2008 – Express Imaging Systems (EIS), LLC, today announced that it will make available the Express Maxibook Maker and photobook assembly machine. The Express Maxibook Maker can bind both silver halide and non-photographic print pages into hardbound photobooks ranging in size.
In an arrangement made with Zechini Gra., the Italian book binding equipment manufacturer, EIS will be the exclusive North American sales representative for the Maxibook Maker, while PhotoIntel Group, UK will oversee the European market.
The Express Photobook Maxi System is a flexible solution to the all too frequent either/or, (silver halide or digital paper) challenge present when making photobooks; the Maxi System can assemble photobooks from both mediums, says EIS. “Retailers are looking for products that appeal to the individualistic, creative, photo-gift consumer. With the Maxi System labs can create a range of photobook styles and sizes, helping customers to pick what’s right for them,” says Keith Miller, President and CEO of EIS.
This innovative interpretation of the traditional photographic album is created by assembling either silver halide photographic paper, or digital press paper, to a light carboard backing at perfect register, says EIS. Expressly choosen for silver halide prints the Express Maxibook Maker uses a cold vinilic glue; the amount and the density of the glue can be customized. A unique moving table design is capable of assembling books up to 50mm ( 2 inches) thick in two minutes. The Express Maxibook Maker performs at 720 strokes, or double sides pages, per hour. Maximum book format is 50 x 70 cm ( 19.5 x 27.5 inches). Minimum book format is 15 x 15 cm ( 6 x 6 inches).
The Express Maxibook Maker was on display at the Express Imaging Systems booth, C256, at PMA, Las Vegas, January 31 through February 2, 2008. Interested parties should contact Express Imaging Systems for samples.
