SEATTLE – January 30, 2008 – Express Imaging Systems (EIS), LLC, announces the release of the Europa Photosix high speed digital printer. The Europa Photosix produces photographic prints ranging from 3.5 to 6 inch (15 cm) in width and is expected to appeal to minilab owners looking to increase production capacity. When paired with the Express Mini Photobook Maker the Europa Photosix delivers 6 x 8 inch silver halide minibooks.
One of the newest members of the Europa line of high speed digital RA4 printers, the Europa Photosix prints silver halide 380 ppi prints at a speed of 8,000 prints per hour (pph). With a print width of 3.5 inches to 6 inches the Europa Photosix can run a wide range of mixed print orders, reducing packaging time by reducing the number of print sources, says EIS. Paired with the Express Mini Photobook Maker as part of the Express Photobook Mini System, the Europa Photosix’s 6 inch wide print capability contributes to minibooks ranging in size from 5 x 7 to 6 x 8 inches.
According to PMA Data Watch, “Photo books can be as important as prints in the specialty retail portfolio.” “The Europa Photosix is an incredible multi-purpose machine for a lab looking to produce both quality prints at high speeds and to enter the photobook market,” says Keith Miller, President and CEO of EIS. “Silver halide is still the best medium for photographic prints. Mini photobook pages made on silver halide paper carry this message of quality.”
The Europa can be configured to handle multiple print and paper channels based on paper width, emulsion, thickness and print length – up to 8 inches long – perfect for greeting cards and panoramics. EIS has created a modification kit for standard Afga paper cassettes to accommodate 6 inch wide paper. This modification can be installed either at the factory or by an EIS field service technician.
The Europa Photosix is an LED/LCD based printer that consumes less power than the competition; it is water cooled, and it has an environmentally friendly thermal transfer backprinter, says EIS. The Europa was designed with an open architecture making it simple to integrate into most pre-existing workflows, including PfDF. Evolving from the easy integration of the Europa into the Agfa dWS system using a simple XML hot folder, EIS recently released eGate an XML based digital fulfillment workflow system.
Interested parties are invited to visit booth C256 at PMA, Las Vegas, January 31 through February 2, 2008, or call 206-720-1798 ext 108 to make an appointment. EIS will be taking orders at PMA to be held in Las Vegas, January 31 – February 2, 200. Estimated delivery time for the Europa Photosix is 6-8 weeks.
