March 9, 2009 Seattle, WA – Express Imaging Systems, LLC (EIS) a leading developer of digital imaging technologies, announced today that the Europa 15 high speed digital printer, took 1st place in its class at the prestigious 14th Annual DIMA  (Digital Imaging Marketing Association) Shoot-Out held at the 2009 PMA (Photo Marketing Association) trade show.

Consistently strong on text, tonality, detail and shadow depth, this year the Europa digital printer scored high on flesh tones, and highlights and specular highlights. Prints for the competition were made from a demanding high resolution digital file created by PMA.

“The Europa printer is a constantly high-scoring performer,” says Cathleen Shattuck, Creative Director at EIS. “The Europa can be profiled to achieve nearly any combination of preferences. Not everyone likes their images to look the same way, but with the Europa we can always help them to produce the best prints possible.” Print channels can be created for nearly any paper or surface type. Each paper type has its own LUT and it’s own icc profile, guaranteed to bring out the best features in each paper and surface, says the company.

Europa digital printers combine reliability, high speed and low cost of ownership. With a throughput of 15,000 prints per hour, wholesale photo labs can have productivity and quality without an outsized capital investment. Due to its open architecture interface, the Europa easily integrates with any digital workflow, including Agfa dWS. The Europa ships complete with an environmentally-friendly thermal transfer Backprinter.
