Seattle, WA – Express Imaging Systems, LLC, a leading developer of digital imaging technologies, announced today that it will unveil the Europa 10 at photokina 2004. Photofinishing labs can hit peak productivity by running an output of 10,000 prints per hour on paper sizes ranging from 3.5” to 8”, and easily upgrade to achieve 20,000 four-inch prints per hour. As of today, this level of productivity can be obtained for $250,000 USD.

The Europa 10 is the first in a line of new high speed digital printers to be released by Express Imaging Systems. Designed for high volume printing in a wholesale or centralized photo finishing lab environment, the Europa uses a combination of LED and LCD technology to print high resolution digital images up to 600dpi onto rolls of silver halide based photographic printing paper.

“Speed, quality, and scalability are important to our customers,” said Keith Miller, CEO of Express Imaging Systems, LLC. “We have a reputation for building reliable products and offering upgrades that match industry growth, guaranteeing that our customers get the maximum investment for their dollar. The quality of the Europa is stunning, and at these speeds it performs spectacularly.”

The Europa 10 has the lowest cost of ownership of any digital printer. Features, such as compatibility with industry standard paper cassettes, a fast and easy color management system with integrated ICC profile software, and a Windows XP interface, mean that the Europa integrates easily into any existing workflow.

The Europa operates using paper and print channels that enable the user to select multiple combinations of paper sizes and print formats. Multiple finish and emulsion paper types are also supported. Breakthrough technology enables 8” x 10” (203mm x 254mm) enlargements, package prints, or album pages at rates of 10,000 images per hour.

The Europa can communicate via a Photofinishing Data Format (PfDF) connection to retrieve order and batch print processing information across networks. By default, the Europa will be shipped from the factory with general paper and print channels and will be able to perform rudimentary order processing without additional setup. Integrate the Europa with Express Image Manager, a modular workflow software application also designed by Express Imaging Systems, to build a complete high speed digital solution.

Express Imaging Systems will shipp production units Q-4 2004. Please come to Hall 14.1 Booth D 017 to meet our Engineers, view sample prints, and plan for 2005.
