The eGate
System Workflow was designed with high volume production
work in mind. This lean xml-based system centers around eControl,
which is responsible for work distribution and system control.
Image enhancement is performed by powerful eIPUs. Outputs,
such as the Europa printer, or CD Server are standard, however,
custom output folders can easily be added depending on your
requirements. Likewise, you can choose to send batches directly
to a standard xml input folder, or give us the specification
and let us help you with something customized for your lab
only. Take a look at the all the different pieces eGate has
to offer and we will help build the network
that's right for you. |

eControl
Central to eGate is eControl. Using a single
xml file, eControl efficiently maintains local product codes,
allowed component values (paper width, print length, etc)
and image enhancement settings. Use eControl to add or remove
components, such as printers, input folders, or CD Server,
from your network. Manage your entire eGate
network from one computer.

eIPU (image processing unit)
eIPUs perform image enhancement. A single
eIPU can process 5,000 images per hour. Match your image
traffic by installing multiple eIPUs. Dynamic batch loading
splits batches up over multiple eIPUs to deliver the fastest
possible processing. The eIPU's powerful image enhancement
includes contrast and color adjustment, local shadow and
highlight enhancement, red-eye reduction, and sharpening.
An eIPU is pure processing; this is your network workhorse.

Standard Input Folder
For each image source, input folders provide
an entry into the eGate system. Batch information stored
in a simple xml file format is used to define the batch
and its workflow requirements. For 'simple' image sources,
the input folder itself can assign this information. The
standard input folder enables image rotation and review
when used with an ExpressScan Scanner.

Custom Input Folder
Integrate upstream third party software, legacy image source
equipment or a PfDF component, such as a reorder table into
your workflow. Contact us to find out how we can help.

Europa
Printer
Production work can be delivered to the Europa printer via
hot folder, PfDF or an xml file. As a standard output of eGate,
the xml file makes for the most flexible and efficient assignment
of print products in a high volume operation. Update Europa
print channel settings or product codes directly from the
centralized eControl. |
|

|
CD Server
CD Sever is an output module that supports
the creation of multiple CD product designs on up to five
Rimage CD duplicators. Include logos and barcodes and bundle
advertising content with each CD order.
|
|
|
Index
Print Formatter
Index Print Formatter is an output module that creates index
prints during batch processing. Use the Index Print Formatter
for printing index prints on the Europa 10 or as a configurable
stand-alone application. |
|
|
Image Server
Do you have high volume archival requirements for re-orders
or image enhanced customer backups? As an standard output
option for the eGate workflow system the Image Server is
customized to match your image traffic volumes.
|
|
Custom
Output Folders
Custom Output folders integrate downstream workflow
components, such as an email engine or minilab. Let us know
what you need to integrate, from legacy equipment to the sophisticated
applications your engineers might have pioneered for your
in house-operation. |
